It’s a brand new year and a brand new member for us here at the Anaphylaxis Campaign, as Dr Anna Murphy will be joining us as of January 2013 to bring her expertise and experience to our Clinical and Scientific Panel.
Anna is a consultant respiratory pharmacist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. She also led in the development and is currently chairperson of the UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) Respiratory Group.
Working across Leicestershire, Anna offers assessment, medicine optimisation, monitoring and advice, as well as interface care and the development of services for people with respiratory disease. She recently led an NHS Innovation Project investigating the role of community pharmacists in the management of people with asthma.
Anna currently works with several national groups and organisations on issues surrounding prescribing in respiratory disease. She has published widely in peer reviewed journals and is author of Asthma-in-Focus, a book primarily for pharmacists and other non-medical prescribers, recently producing the “7-Steps to Success” education materials.
With her knowledge and achievements in the field of respiratory medicine and care, Anna will be able to offer vital expertise on the links between these conditions and serious allergy to our Clinical and Scientific Panel. We extend a warm welcome from everyone at The Campaign and are glad to have her as part of the team.
