Allergywise for Hospital Ward Staff

If you work on a hospital ward, you are likely to care for patients with severe food allergies who are at risk from anaphylaxis.

Our online e-learning course AllergyWise for Hospital Ward Staff is designed to help nurses, healthcare assistants, ward managers, dietitians and other ward staff improve their knowledge about allergies, ensure the right meal gets to the right patient, know how to provide treatment in an emergency, and understand how to safeguard vulnerable patients who are at risk of anaphylaxis.

  • Learn about the practical management of food allergies on a hospital ward
  • Learn about common allergens and common causes of severe allergic reactions.
  • Learn about allergen avoidance management and how to reduce cross-contamination risks.
  • Learn how to recognise the signs and symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, know what to do in an emergency.

Our simple to follow online modules feature quick tests, interactive diagrams and videos to make learning about allergies and anaphylaxis easier than ever.

Register online at www.allergywise.org.uk today and learn conveniently, wherever and whenever it suits you. The course takes 1 – 2 hours to complete, but you can work through at your own pace and take a break at any time.

If you’d like proof that you’ve mastered AllergyWise, you can also buy a proof of course completion certificate for just £5+VAT and support the work of the Anaphylaxis Campaign.

To register for this course, go to our AllergyWise website.

Aimmune have supported the hospital food project through a grant – the grant does not constitute the Charity’s endorsement of Aimmune’s products or services and is fully compliant with the ABPI Code of Conduct.
