Dr George Raptis is a consultant in paediatric allergy at Royal Hospital for Children and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Glasgow. He works within a team of specialist nurses and clinicians from other disciplines to support allergy patients, especially those who suffer from multiple and complex food/inhalant allergies and with multisystem involvement.
He leads the paediatric allergy research group at the University of Glasgow. He currently serves as principal investigator on peanut and milk immunotherapy (oral, sublingual and epicutaneous) clinical trials at the Clinical Research Facilities, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Apart from his role as principal investigator in clinical trials, he also leads food allergy (immunology and microbiome analysis in cow’s milk allergy) studies, research projects on the management of anaphylaxis in community and allergy prevention (investigator-led studies, part of his previous role as senior fellow with NHS Research Scotland).
