My name is Alison Streefland. I live in Swansea, Wales and am proud to be a fluent Welsh speaker. I have recently retired from a career in Education which spanned 40 years and involved working in both the Primary and Secondary sectors as a Welsh teacher, Head of Welsh, Advisory teacher and a Curriculum Development Officer.
I am a mother of two sons, one of whom has a serious peanut allergy. I discovered Anaphylaxis UK (previously known as the Anaphylaxis Campaign) almost 30 years ago when my son was an infant and found the support and information provided by the charity over the subsequent years to be invaluable. Without it, I as a mother, would have been lost.
I am proud to be involved with Anaphylaxis UK as an Associate Trainer and look forward to helping others understand allergy.
