About the event

Get your walking shoes on and explore some of the Capital’s less known historic areas with a tour of the ‘gateway to London’ along the Thames’s eastern section. Starting alongside the grandeur of Woolwich Barracks – there’s a marathon looped route, which heads into the heart of the Capital – alongside a 25km option taking in Greenwich, and a 10km option if you’re after something a bit shorter! Routes steeped in history with iconic sights, a lively warm up, full support all the way, rest stops with snacks and drinks, and capped with a BBQ meal, bar and music at the finish, making for a wonderful active end of summer celebration!

Fundraising Options

Choose a distance and fundraising option that suits you…

OPTION 1: Full Charity Sponsorship

You pay a small registration fee, do lots of fundraising and we cover the cost of your event place! 

 

  • Marathon: £40 registration fee and £375 fundraising target
  • 25km: £30 registration fee and £275 fundraising target
  • 10km: £20 registration fee and £100 fundraising target

 

At least 50% of your sponsorship target must be with Anaphylaxis UK 3 weeks prior to the challenge. Failure to meet the deadline may result in cancellation of your place. The remaining 50% and any extra, should be with Anaphylaxis UK by 4 weeks after the challenge. Remember, we’re here to support you get to your fundraising target!

OPTION 2: Mixed Funding for Charity

Pay half of the event place cost yourself, fundraise a bit less and we pay the balance of the event place cost. 

 

  • Marathon: £75 registration fee and £225 fundraising target
  • 25km: £50 registration fee and £150 fundraising target
  • 10km: £22.50 registration fee and £70 fundraising target

OPTION 3: Own Place Fundraising

You pay the full cost of the event place – fundraise as much as you can, with no set target or deadline, and there’s a small admin fee to the charity.

 

  • Marathon: £139 fee
  • 25km: £89 fee
  • 10km: £49 fee

could pay for a healthcare professional to complete our AllergyWise®️ training course to ensure staff working in a community setting recognise the signs of anaphylaxis and know how to confidently respond to a reaction.

could help develop much-needed resources to reduce allergy-related anxiety and equip people with tools they may need to cope with living with allergies. A positive release of accessible information via digital guides, infographics, bitesize podcasts and videos.

could help us grow our Support Group network to strengthen local support for individuals and families living with serious allergies. This exciting new initiative will create a safe, inclusive space where people affected by serious allergies can come together, share experiences, and support one another.

could pay for 3 face-to-face visits to education settings from our Education & AllergyWise®️ Manager, Tracey Dunn. Tracey has 15+ years experience as a qualified teacher and mum to children with allergies, and shares her expertise with schools to improve their allergy management.
