October 2013 USA – Arizona is the latest state in the USA to allow schools to stock and administer general-use, injectable adrenaline
The law provisions are as follows:
• Schools may stock and administer auto-injectable epinephrine.
• If the Legislature provides funding to do so, schools would be required to stock two child doses and two adult doses of auto-injectable epinephrine.
• If proper training is provided, offers immunity from liability for schools and staff members using auto-injector on students or staff members experiencing anaphylaxis.
• Requires all staff to be trained to recognize the signs of anaphylaxis and at least one staff member to be trained in how to use the auto-injector.
