Anaphylaxis Awareness Week 1-7 October 2025

Over 30 years ago Anaphylaxis UK was set up with the principle objectives of preventing deaths from food-induced anaphylaxis and improving the quality of life for those living with serious allergies.

Back then so little was known about severe allergies. People had little to no information and what was available was inadequate. Our mission, from day one, was to change that by providing credible and accurate information, training and support. And that is exactly what we’ve done for more than 30 years.

And now, here we are 30 years later approaching our 7th Anaphylaxis Awareness Week… and with your help we want to make AAW2025 bigger and better than ever!

The Hidden Battle with Allergies

Back in 2024 we used Anaphylaxis Awareness Week to launch our new #HiddenBattleWithAllergies campaign and we were overwhelmed by the response. It’s a topic that sadly resonated with so many of you.

Whilst, much great work has been done over the years, by us and other leading allergy charities, to raise awareness of the seriousness of allergies and anaphylaxis, there is still much work to be done to tackle the often ‘hidden’ emotional challenges that come with living with serious allergies.

With that in mind, we have chosen to continue to focus on the #HiddenBattleWithAllergies and for Anaphylaxis Awareness Week 2025 we will be focusing on the importance of reliable and accurate information and support to tackle the emotional impact of living with allergies.

.

Calming the #HiddenBattleWithAllergies with Trusted Information

The worry of living with or caring for someone with serious allergies, may never fully go away… we know that. But what we also know is having access to the right information and support can help to calm the fear and worry that can come with living with allergies.

Having access to accurate, reliable information not only empowers people to feel more in control of their allergy journey, but it also helps to debunk some of the inaccurate information that is widely spread online, particularly on social media. Often with the best intentions, false information is shared which can cause unnecessary fear and panic.

So we will be using Anaphylaxis Awareness Week 2025 as an opportunity to share accurate and trusted information and resources to ease the uncertainty that can come with living with allergies.

Never Alone on your Allergy Journey

Everything we do at Anaphylaxis UK is to try to make sure everyone feels supported and empowered on this journey.

We will always do our best to ensure the information and resources we share are factually correct, reliable and up to date… all with the intention of ensuring you have access to the information and support you deserve 🧡🩵

How can you get involved?

#WearItBright

Join us in showing people living with serious allergies that they are not alone on this journey.

Whether you have allergies yourself or want to show your support for those who do… why not dress up in your brightest clothes and demonstrate your support for everyone affected by anaphylaxis? Post a picture of yourself ‘wearing it bright’ to Facebook,  LinkedIn, X or Instagram and talk about why you are supporting Anaphylaxis Awareness Week this year.

Don’t forget to tag us and use the hashtag #WearItBright and follow us on social media to see more of our updates from the week.

Take on a Fundraising Challenge

Wearing it Bright isn’t the only way you can get involved to show those living with allergies that they are not alone. Taking on a fundraising challenge is a great way to show your support and raise awareness at the same time!

Are you up for taking on a fundraising challenge? In September we will launch our dedicated AAW2025 fundraising webpage housing all the information you will need to take on a fundraising challenge during Anaphylaxis Awareness Week, including free downloadable resources and useful tips to get you started.

The most important thing about Anaphylaxis Awareness Week is to get the word out there! So we’d love as many of you as possible to show your support by sharing our social media posts to your own channels throughout the week. We’ll have whole range of resources for you to share so keep an eye out for those!

And if you’re taking part in #WearItBright or taking on a fundraising challenge, don’t forget to post about your efforts on social media.

Whatever you’re doing to support Anaphylaxis Awareness Week 2025, we want the world to know about it!
