Honorary President of the Anaphylaxis Campaign, Dr William Frankland to receive an MBE
Dr. William Frankland, who turned 103 in March, has been awarded an MBE on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List this 
year for his contributions to allergy research.
Dr. Frankland is a respected pioneer in allergy research and is responsible for introducing the specialism to the UK. Amongst his many achievements, Dr Frankland also brought the pollen count to public attention and assisted Alexander Fleming (who famously discovered penicillin).
Dr. Frankland has also made a significant contribution to a number of organisations which have raised the profile of allergy and spearheaded research into new treatments in recent years, including the Anaphylaxis Campaign – which he has supported since it was founded in 1994.
Dr. Frankland is one of 481 candidates selected to receive an MBE this year.
