RAGs and Universities
Raising and Giving events are held by many University Student Unions across the UK and Ireland and are a great way for students to get involved and support The Anaphylaxis Campaign.
We could go on about the great way they enrich your CV, conveying management skills, organisational skills, extra-curricular activities etc. However, they’re also a great way to take an adventure, set yourself a challenge or do something crazy and have fun.
Some students run ‘Leggit’, an event in which you must get as far away from Uni as possible, for free, in just 36hours.
Some participate in Speed Dating, Sponsored Runs, Bungee Jumping, Sky Diving, Abseiling, Nude Calendars, Casino Nights and many more. Really, as long as your University approves it, you can do whatever you like.
Many of those with severe allergies still aren’t getting the help they need so by participating in a RAG event in the name of The Anaphylaxis Campaign you could not only have a great experience but also raise support and awareness for Anaphylaxis.
If you would like to apply with a RAG idea or have any questions contact Debbie
We are two 4th year medical students from the University of Birmingham and are really excited to be helping to promote Anaphylaxis UK and support their work. This is the first time the charity has been affiliated with a UK Medical School and we plan to reach out to any other Universities also hoping to work with the charity. We have fundraising events planned for the New Year and propose to approach schools in the West Midlands in order to raise awareness of the charity and educate students and teachers about severe allergies. Watch this space!
