It is vital that systems are in place to enable you to obtain accurate ingredient information from suppliers.
- Check the ingredients of anything you buy that is ready-made including sauces, desserts, sausages and bread
- Don’t rely on what you think is in these products as there can be hidden surprises. A recipe may have been changed
- Keep copies of the ingredients lists so that they can be checked if requested by a customer
- If in any doubt contact the supplier
