June 2017: A U.S. study has found that women could be more prone to food allergies and intolerances than men. And food allergy rates would seem to be higher in the Asian population than in other groups.
The report records a general rise in allergies and intolerances, with shellfish as the most commonly reported food followed by fruit and vegetables, dairy and peanuts.
The study team looked at electronic health records taken from 2.7 million patients between 2000 and 2013.
