The London marathon takes place on 23rd April 2017. We have some amazing runners taking part this year raising money and awareness for the Anaphylaxis Campaign. You can read about them below.
On the 23rd of April I will be running the London marathon in memory of my amazing sister Jane and to raise money for the anaphylaxis campaign. I tragically lost my sister after she went into anaphylactic shock when she came into contact with nuts at a friends party. After losing my sister, and as someone who also suffers from nut allergies, I am truly passionate about raising awareness of the dangers associated with allergies and to help support others who suffer from allergies. Through my fundraising I am hoping to help others understand the care that must be taken when it comes to allergies and to further help the anaphylaxis campaign carry out the amazing work they do.
Hi, I’m Francesca and I am going to be running the London Marathon 2017 for Anaphylaxis Campaign.
I have had a severe nut allergy since I was a child so know exactly what is like to live with a life threatening allergy. I only discovered the fantastic work Anaphylaxis Campaign do whilst researching the London Marathon last year. Since then their support has been amazing and they have helped answer lots of questions I have had about my allergies for many years.
I’m running to raise awareness and help people feel more confident about speaking up about their life threatening allergies. During my fundraising I have been speaking to children and young adults about recognising allergies and supporting those that have them.
If you see me out running in my orange vest (not far from Anaphylaxis Campaign HQ) give me a wave or a toot!
