The Anaphylaxis Campaign’s Corporate Conference
We recently held our summer Corporate Conference at the Auchentoshan Distillery, Glasgow. We had approximately 40 delegates from a wide range of organisations including food manufactueres, food retailers, caterers and pharmaceutical companies.
The event was hosted by R-Biopharm Rhone, an international company working in the field of food analysis and clinical diagnostics and supported by Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL), who provide expertise in analysis, product development and training to the global food, drink, pharmaceutical, healthcare, biopharmaceutical and consumer goods sectors.
The programme included several presentations on hot topics for corporate members of the Anaphylaxis Campaign including a presentation on ‘New and Old Food Allergens’ from Professor Jurgen Schwarze, Chair of Child Life and Health, University of Edinburgh, who explained the need for the food industry to be prepared for the unexpected and Victoria Johnson, UK Product Specialist (Food and Feed) at R-Biopharm Rhone, spoke about the opportunities and pitfalls when testing for allergens in food.
