Seminars and Exhibitions
This is the 3rd Allergy Academy Practical Allergy for Nurses study day. It is designed for nurses
and health visitors practising in primary care to raise awareness of allergic disease, including both
recognition and management. The programme relates to the practical management and support of
the patient and family with an allergic condition such as eczema, food allergy, rhinitis and asthma.
This study day will be a valuable introduction to allergic disease and its management. Delegates
will gain an understanding of the basic immunology of allergy and the practical value of clinical
investigations in relation to allergic disease. This day runs in parallel with a study day for nurses in
secondary and tertiary care, facilitating delegates to move between sessions.
Topic highlights include:
• Anaphylaxis
• Allergies in school
• Feeding the child with allergies
• Vaccination
• Management of atopic diseases
