About The Anaphylaxis Campaign
The Anaphylaxis Campaign is a national registered charity (number 1085527) set up in 1994 following the deaths of four people from allergic reactions to nuts. The Campaign provides support and information to the growing number of people at risk from life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), particularly to foods, including peanut allergy.
Our ultimate aim is to create a safe environment for all people living with allergy by educating the food industry, schools, pre-schools, colleges, health professionals and other key audiences. Our focus is on medical facts, food labelling, risk reduction and allergen management.
Life can be traumatic and uncertain for people living with severe allergy, with an emergency dash to hospital an ever present possibility, every day of the year. The Anaphylaxis Campaign is the only organisation that exclusively meets the needs of this group.
Our aims:
-
To advance the education and general understanding of the public concerning life-threatening allergies and associated disorders.
-
To protect the health of people who suffer from allergy which can cause severe reactions by providing help and information to them, their families and friends.
-
To promote research into the cause and care of severe allergic conditions and to publish the results of such research.
All the Campaign's advisers are prominent, respected allergy experts working within the NHS.
